Crew App Guide

The Crew app (fieldcrew.vercel.app) is a mobile PWA for CDB employees. It's designed for quick daily use from a phone on a job site.

What Crew Does

  • Time clock — clock in and out with one tap
  • Task view — see your assigned tasks for the day
  • Job context — see which job you're clocked into

Getting Started

Install as PWA (recommended)

  1. Open fieldcrew.vercel.app on your iPhone or Android
  2. Tap Share → Add to Home Screen (iPhone) or Add to Home Screen (Android Chrome)
  3. The app icon appears on your home screen — tap it to launch like a native app

Login

Use the access code provided by David or Jerry.

Clocking In

  1. Open Crew
  2. Tap Clock In
  3. Select the job you're working on
  4. Time tracking starts

Your time entry appears in Field under /team → your name.

Clocking Out

  1. Tap Clock Out
  2. Add a note (optional) — what you worked on
  3. Confirm

Your hours are recorded in Supabase and visible to David and Phil in Field.

Tasks

The task list shows tasks assigned to you. Check them off as you complete them — the status updates in Field in real time.

For Managers (Field /team)

David and Phil can see the whole crew from Field's /team page:

  • Who's currently clocked in
  • Time entries for any date range
  • Pending approvals (if approval workflow is enabled)

Troubleshooting

Can't clock in:

  • Check your internet connection (needs a signal to sync)
  • Make sure you're logged in — session may have expired

Wrong job selected:

  • Clock out from the current job
  • Clock back in with the correct job selected
  • Jerry can edit time entries in Supabase if needed

App not loading:

  • Try a hard refresh (hold the icon → delete app, re-add from browser)
  • Check fieldcrew.vercel.app in the browser to confirm the app is up
